Mafia Matcha was born from a quiet obsession with tea and the search for the perfect bowl of matcha. Our founder, Liza, spent almost a year speaking with and sampling from over 80 Japanese tea producers to create something truly exceptional – a matcha that feels like a joyful alternative to coffee and a small luxury in your daily routine.
What began as a single signature blend has, in just over a year, evolved into a considered collection of matchas – each chosen for a different mood, ritual, or level of curiosity. Every addition is deliberate, and every blend has to earn its place on the shelf.
Today, Mafia Matcha is served in over 150 coffee shops across Ireland and is trusted by a growing number of partners across Europe, from specialty cafés to concept stores.
We only source the highest quality matcha and are proud to work with one of the most respected farmers in Japan, whose teas regularly win prestigious competitions. At the heart of everything we do are three principles: authenticity, consistency, and excellence. We choose ceremonial-grade matcha that is rich in flavour, vibrant in colour, and completely free from unnecessary additives, so every cup tastes as beautiful as it looks.

Origins of Our Matcha
Mafia Matcha blends are sourced from a handful of carefully chosen regions in Japan – including Kyoto, Yame and Kagoshima – depending on the tea you’re enjoying. We focus on first harvest matcha only, selected for depth of flavour, natural sweetness and vibrant colour, so every bowl feels smooth, balanced and genuinely good for you.
We protect that quality from farm to cup with careful storage, thoughtful packaging, and handling that keeps our matcha as intact as possible.
Our matcha is 100% certified organic and free from additives – nothing added, nothing hidden, just pure Japanese ceremonial-grade tea.
